NFSU experts to involve in probe with Delhi Police over January 26 violent clashes

January 26 marks a special day for Indians as the Indian constitution came into effect on this day in 1950. It has been celebrated ever since by the citizens with joy in schools and institutions.

January 26, 2021, was not the same though as the whole world witnessed a massive clash between the Delhi police and protesters who were protesting for the new farm bills introduced by the Modi government.

What happened on January 26, 2021?

Its been months since the farmers have come onto the roads in the chilly winter presenting their anger against the government’s decision.

On Republic Day, the farmer unions had sought permission to take a tractor rally through the roads of Delhi and the route was fully decided. However, some of the violent protesters, diverted from their route and went to different routes clashing with the police.

Several, police personnel were injured in the clashes as well as protesters. However, one farmer died trying to Overspeed the tractor over a barricade and in the process died due to the upside-down of a tractor.

The peaceful protest soon became a violent and dangerous one in which the protesters went to Red Fort after the Indian Flag was hoisted. Protesters went to Red Fort and unfurled their flags from its ramparts.

Investigation with NFSU experts

To start with the investigation, Delhi Police has filed 25 FIRs and are investigating the several CCTV and video footage found of the protests.

To help them investigate, Delhi Police has asked the NFSU specialists to help analyze the 1600 hours of video footage and find the culprits responsible for turning the peaceful protest into a violent one.

A team of 6 NFSU experts will work alongside the Delhi Police. They will aid the police in the scientific investigation and also aid the cyber cell with their expertise.

The culprits found in the areas based on the video clippings and the mobile tracking will be arrested/warned. The 1st time offenders will be given an official warning while the criminal background culprits would be arrested.
