In Chicago, a man was ambushed after being released from the Cook County Jail. Police said he suffered as many as 64 bullet wounds to his head and other parts of his body.
The horrific shooting happened on Saturday night, which led to the death of a Rapper Londre Sylvester, 31. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
Two women who were with Londre Sylvester were seriously injured and were hospitalized who are in good condition. One woman who is 60 years old was shot in one of her knees, and the second woman suffered a wound to her mouth.
“Sylvester, also known as KTS (stage name) had just been released after being fitted for electronic monitoring and was walking to a waiting vehicle when several suspects exited two separate vehicles and all began to shoot in Sylvester’s direction, striking him numerous times,” the police report said.
According to the Tribune, Sylvester was the “intended target” and had “just been released” from custody as he wore a monitoring device on his ankle.
The suspects fled the crime scene; however, police said there were surveillance cameras in the area to review evidence.
Londre Sylvester had been sentenced to prison four times since 2010. He was first arrested in late April on a felony of weapon possession charge and resisting police. His charges were later upgraded to a Class X armed habitual crime and had been in sheriff’s custody for more than a year, CWB reported.
