Former US President Donald Trump on Thursday again blamed China for circulating Covid-19 to the whole world and said China should pay $10 trillion to America and the world.
He further said the fine should be imposed on China for the death and destruction they have caused due to the leak of a virus.
Donald Trump released the statement after the shift taken by Dr. Fauci on the origin of the Coronavirus. The theory of lab leak Coronavirus came to the news after Dr. Fauci’s private emails were revealed to the media.
Over 10,000 emails were obtained by the Washington Post, Buzzfeed News, and CNN through Freedom of Information Act(FOIA) requests, date from January to June 2020.
Dr. Fauci is facing criticism after the mail of Eco health circulated in the media. The executive at Eco health thanked Fauci for publicly stating that scientific evidence supports a ‘natural origin’ for Coronavirus and not a slab leak. Eco health group was funding the research which was held in Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical advisor to President Biden, is facing resignation calls from the Republican party in the US over his’ shifting stance’ on the Wuhan Lab leak theory.
“Now everyone, even the so-called “enemy,” are beginning to say that President Trump was right about the Chinese Virus coming from Wuhan Lab,” Trump said.
“The correspondence between Dr. Fauci and China speaks too loudly for anyone to ignore,” Donald Trump said in a statement.
Trump complained that “The Democrats and the Fake News Media even called me a ‘xenophobe‘” for closing US borders amid the initial outbreak.
The 21-page report by Republicans’ House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence suggested that the SARS-COV-2 virus, which causes the COVID-19 infection, was manufactured in a lab in China. In addition, the report claims that an American Institute named the National Institute of Allergic and Infectious Diseases(NIAID), headed by Dr. Fauci, was also funding the Wuhan Institute of Virology research.
The Republicans claim the communications of Fauci shows that he knew that China was conducting experiments with genetically engineered coronaviruses.
They also stressed that he was warned of the possibility of a lab leak when he was publicly insisting the pandemic emerged naturally by jumping from an animal host to a human.
The report issued by Republicans suggests that researchers had been conducting experiments in Wuhan since 2016, which involved RaTG13, the bat coronavirus identified by the WIV in January 2020 as the closest sample to the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Denying any connections, Dr. Fauci, while speaking to CNN, said, “That is nonsense. I don’t even see how they get that from that email. I have always said and will say today that I still believe the most likely origin is from an animal species to a human. However, I keep an open mind that if there may be other origins of that, there may be another reason, it could have been a lab leak from China.”
Clarifying his stance, Dr. Fauci said, “Let’s get real here — if you look at scientific information as it accumulates, what is going on in January and February, what you know as a fact, as data, guides what you tell people and your policies. Then, in March, April, May occur, you accumulate a lot more information, and you modify and adjust your opinion and your recommendation based on the current science and current data.”
