What is Data Breach?
A data breach is an incident where information is stolen or taken from a system without the knowledge or authorization of the system’s owner. A small company or large organization may suffer a data breach. Stolen data may involve sensitive, proprietary, or confidential information such as credit card numbers, customer data, trade secrets, or national security matters.
Dominos Data Breach
On 16 April 2021, Israel Based Cybercrime Intelligence Company Co-founder Alon Gal found that Hackers posted and claimed to have hacked Domino’s India and stole 13 TB worth of Data.
Information includes 180,000,000 order details containing names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, payment details, and a whopping 1 Million credit cards from the 2018-21 time period.
Initially, Hackers tried to sell these crucial Data on the dark web for around $550,000 but got no response. Then, they built a Search Portal to enable querying the data.
These Data Breach hackers have published data for the past 6 Years (2015-2021) and how much you have spent on Pizza orders, your linked Email address, Mobile Number, individual order value, Home/ Delivery address with exact coordinates, Date, and Timing of Orders.
For now, Credit card details are not available online, but Hackers Claim to have data of 1 Million credit cards, and they will make the data public.
Domino’s Pizza spokesperson Replied to this incident and said, “No data of financial information of any person was accessed, and the incident has not resulted in any operational or business impact.”
“As a policy, we do not store financial details for credit card data of our customers. Thus no such information has been compromised,” Prakash Bell said(Head of customer success and SE Lead).
