IGI Airport Delhi Received a Hoax Bomb Threat From Unstable Boy
Intelligence agencies and Delhi police received a bomb threat targeting Indra Gandhi international airport Delhi.
After one hour-long investigation by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), it was found to be a hoax. Further investigation revealed that a mentally unstable passenger made the call. The name of the person is identified as Akash deep.
The 22 years old boy was traveling with his father, who was going from Delhi to Patna. He made the hoax call from inside the plane during traveling.
“We received a call at around 7.45 am that there was a bomb inside a plane traveling from Delhi to Patna. We immediately informed all the concerned agencies. Around 52 passengers were shifted to another plane as a thorough check was conducted. After checking, we declared that it was a hoax call,” DCP (Airport) Rajeev Ranjan said.
“His father informed the police that his son’s mental condition is not stable, and he had made a call from his phone while he was sitting inside the aircraft,” the DCP added.
After receiving a bomb threat on terminal 2 of the airport, the police immediately evacuated all passengers to gate no.4. while arriving passengers were on hold inside the aircraft.
The CISF officials searched the airport till 10 Pm after which passengers were allowed to enter the airport.
