National Forensic Sciences University, Gujarat

NFSU is a university in Gandhinagar, Gujarat also known as Gujarat Forensic Science University (GFSU) and is completely based on investigative studies. Established in 2008, it offers many different courses including Forensic Accounting, Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, Forensic science, Criminology, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Nanotechnology, Clinical psychology, Analytical Chemistry, etc.

Situated in the Capital of Gujarat, it is a great place to study where you can interact with brilliant faculty, students from different nations and also offering placements in different streams having tied up with many different firms.

NFSU mainly offers courses in MSc, M.Phil, MS, Integrated courses, PG Diploma, MBA, Ph.D. along with some online courses. The MSc and MS programs usually take 2 years and a Ph.D. takes a minimum of 3 years. PG Diploma courses comprise of 1 year and online courses take a minimum of 6 months duration.

Admissions to this university are done on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the University. NFSU conducts different entrance exams for different courses that must be qualified. Rashtriya Raksha University

Rashtriya Raksha University also is known as Raksha Shakti University in Gandhinagar, Gujarat is the first internal security institute of India established in 2009 and inaugurated by former chief minister Narendra Modi.

This university was developed to provide better knowledge for the youth related to the security of the nation. It lays great emphasis on the professional study of defense, strategy towards anti-insurgency, etc.

The university was taken over by the Central government in 2020 under the RRU bill, 2020 presented in Lok Sabha.

Raksha Shakti university offers B.A. and B.Tech as Undergraduate courses, M.Sc, M.A., LLM, M.Tech in various specializations. It also offers Research degree programs, online courses, and 1-year diplomas.

Admissions for MSc in Forensic Science are done on the basis of the Merit list while other courses have different criteria. For example:- To appear in LLM, a student must have appeared in the CLAT exam. For Ph.D. courses, entrance exams conducted by the university or UGC NET/JRF are considered.

Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology & Forensic Science

LNJN University of Criminology and Forensic was established in 1972 in New Delhi, India with a view of providing better and quality education in Humanities and science. LNJN mainly focuses on the postgraduate degree of Forensic Science and Criminology with a duration of a minimum of 2 years.

It is one of the best colleges for the students of Forensic science in India as it offers the best practical knowledge and offers training and internships. Many police personnel, lawyers, professionals come to this university for training.

Department of Anthropology, University Of Delhi

The Department of Anthropology, New Delhi was established in 1947 in the faculty of science under the University of Delhi when Maurice Gwyer was the Vice-chancellor of Delhi University.

It was the 2nd anthropological department in India and featured among the Top 100 in QS World University Ranking by subject 2016-2017.

It is one of the oldest departments of anthropology offering an M.Sc in Anthropology with one of the best faculty. Admission in this department is done on the basis of entrance exams and the syllabus corresponds to the same syllabus as of B.A./B.Com/B.Sc. The student must have completed his graduation in any science stream with at least 50% marks.

Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College (University Of Delhi)

It is a constituent college of the University of Delhi founded in 1951. It is one of the oldest and prestigious colleges in India offering courses in Humanities, commerce, and science.

SGTB doesn’t provide any postgraduate degree in Forensic science but it does provide a Postgraduate Diploma in Forensic science for 1 year. After a 1-year diploma in Forensic Science, you can still pursue Masters as they transfer students for lateral entry i.e., 2nd year in Chandigarh University and Sam Higgin Bottom University, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Admission in SGTB is done purely on the basis of Merit (Offline mode) with limited seats up to 35-40. You are required to have qualified graduation in any science subject with at least 55% marks.

Dr. Harisingh Gour University, M.P.

Dr. Hari Singh Gour University is also known as Sagar University. It is a Central University in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. It was founded in 1946 during British Raj. Sagar University is known for its better education rather than placements.

Sagar University has great laboratory facilities with updated instruments and experienced faculty to help students in working with those instruments. It also provides certain internships as well as training programs for the students.

Located in a remote village of Madhya Pradesh, the university may not be as famous as other central universities, but it has produced a number of talented youngsters. Bundelkhand University

Bundelkhand University is situated in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, and was founded in 1975 and offers various professional, technical, and vocational programs. The chancellor of this university is the governor of Uttar Pradesh.

Bundelkhand University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Admission to Bundelkhand University is done on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the university itself. The students are required to have passed his B.Sc. with a minimum of 55% marks. Total allotted seats for admission in M.Sc Forensic science are 40.
